Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Sharply ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Sharply (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, username, and password (stored hashed), or the basic profile we receive when you sign in with Google or GitHub.
- Profile content — the role, bio, services, portfolio, skills, links, location, and images you choose to add. Published profiles are public.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; we receive limited billing and subscription status from Stripe.
- Usage data — basic analytics such as pages viewed, searches, and device/browser information, including data collected via cookies.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only: publicly (the content of your published profile is visible to anyone); with service providers who help us run the Service (Stripe, our email provider, hosting, AI provider, and analytics) only as needed; for legal reasons; and in a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; create and display your public profile and search results; authenticate you and keep your account secure; process payments and manage subscriptions; send transactional emails (welcome, verification, password reset, billing); provide optional AI-assisted features you trigger; and detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit most information in your dashboard or delete your account at any time.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International users
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to those locations.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
